If you had been on the esplanade a couple of years ago you might have seen 60 yr old grandmother Tess Burrows and her partner set off to pull tyres the length of the South Downs Way.They were on a training exercise. They were preparing to walk 500 miles across the Antarctic wilderness. joining the terrifying South Pole Race (as seen on the BBC documentary series 'On Thin Ice' with Ben Fogle and James Cracknell),They were on a mission to carry 1,300 messages of peace to deliver to the end of the Earth Tess tells their story of surviving this... one of the severest challenges imaginable... of extreme cold and isolation, of fear and impossibility, and ultimately of harmony and hope.
